How we work

SEAP is an organization open to all EU affairs professionals, regardless of their nationality, their country of residence or the interests they represent. Acting as a association for EU Affairs professionals, SEAP aims at establishing links with national associations of government affairs practitioners, looking at national best practices and promoting them Europe wide.

 

General Assembly

The General Assembly is held annually within the first 6 months of the year. It is the supreme governing body of the Association and is chaired by the President. It is open to all SEAP members and written notice is given at least a month in advance. The 2008 General Assembly was held April 21st 2008. The 12th SEAP General Assembly is scheduled for April 6th 2009

Board

The Association is run by the Board composed of not fewer than four nor more than twenty-one SEAP members, who are appointed by and dismissed by the General Assembly. Appointment to the Board shall be for a period of three years. If a place on the Board should become vacant, another Association member approved by the Board may complete that term of office subject to ratification by the next General Assembly. The last election was held at the General Assembly on 30th November 2006;

Committees

There are four committees within SEAP, each with its own terms of reference and specific programme of work. Meetings are held approximately 5-6 times a year and membership of each committee is open to all SEAP members.
