Welcome to SEAP

Dealing with European Affairs is more than an activity. It is a profession. As a profession, it has existed since the very beginning of the European Community in the late nineteen fifties, establishing a dialogue between decision-makers and stakeholders. SEAP supports self-regulation and constructive dialogue with all parties involved, in particular the EU institutions. The Society of European Affairs Professionals is now in its tenth year of existence, and growing steadily.

SEAP is an organization open to all EU affairs professionals, regardless of nationality, country of residence or the interests they represent. Whether you are working with a consultancy, trade association or a non-governmental association; if you are a European affairs professional SEAP is your association.

SEAP has its own code of conduct. This code is acceptable as an alternative to the European Commission code as part of the European Transparency Initiative voluntary registration process.

SEAP recommends to members who chose to register to indicate they are bound by the SEAP Code. It is clearer than the Commission’s Code which contains some ambiguities.  (SEAP is in dialogue with the Commission about this).

If you would like to join SEAP fill lin the registration form and return it to us with a signed copy of the Code of Conduct and we will process your request within 1 week.

If you have a number of colleagues who also wish to join SEAP, we have provision for group membership applications. Download the application form here.
